Sandgreen Caravan Park
Accessibility Statement
Sandgreen is a privately owned caravan park located approximately 3 miles from the main A75 Dumfries to Stranraer road. Our Park has both privately owned Holiday Caravans and privately owned Holiday Lodges.
The Park itself is set on a slope heading down to our private beach. All surfaces are uneven and we do not recommend walking for anybody who has difficulty with mobility. Assistance dogs are welcome on the Park and we ask that they are kept on a leash at all times to keep in line with our existing park rules.
Customers with learning disabilities are very welcome. If the disabilities are severe, we respectfully request that someone who can provide an appropriate level of assistance accompany the customer. We will not make generalisations or assumptions about what people with learning difficulties can do or understand. We will use straightforward language, allow time for a response and be understanding and positive.
Our Reception is open 7 days per week from 9am to 5pm. Access to Reception is by a gentle ramp. Visitor Information leaflets, including weather and travel information can also be located in Reception. We have a laundrette and toilet facility within the Reception building; the toilet is not a public facility.
We have a resident Warden based on the Park and they can be contacted by telephoning 01557 814351 during office hours or 07749 060735 out with office hours.
Mobile phone networks have patchy coverage at Sandgreen, with o2, Vodafone and EE benefiting from a stronger signal.
We offer a variety of pitches with excellent views of the surrounding countryside and Solway Coast. All of the Caravans and Lodges have parking alongside the pitch for your convenience; additional parking is provided at Reception. We take the safety of our customers very seriously and therefore there is a 10mph speed limit throughout the Park with clear signs throughout the Park to make it safer for everyone.
Unfortunately, there are no local transport links to and from the Park. The local taxi firm’s telephone number is 07397 874439. There is a regular bus service from Gatehouse of Fleet to Dumfries and stops are located adjacent to the Murray Arms Hotel to the north of the town’s main street and adjacent to the main car park to the south. For further information on transport, please phone the Local Tourist Information Centre on 01557 814099, National Rail Enquiries on 08457 484950 or Traveline Public Transport Information on 0871 200 2233.
The nearest town to the Park is Gatehouse of Fleet which is approximately 4 miles from the Park and provides shops, pubs, restaurants and a pharmacy. The nearest supermarkets can be found in either Kirkcudbright (7 miles) or Castle Douglas (15 miles). Please ask a member of staff for directions.
Our aim is to help in any way that we can and if you require any assistance during your stay or whilst planning your visit we will be delighted to assist.
